Deadbolts Definitions

Single Cylinder:

A deadbolt which is operated by key on the exterior and a thumb-turn on the interior. A single cylinder deadbolt is the most frequently used in residential locations.

Double Cylinder:

A deadbolt  which is operated by key on both the exterior and interior sides of the lock. Double cylinder locks are most frequently used on glass doors, or doors that are not far from an easily broken window or sidelight.

Electronic Deadbolts:

Handlesets Definitions

One-Piece:

Commonly reffered to as "Monolithic", these handlesets consists of a single plate which connects the grip to the deadbolt. Be sure to know what your "center-to-center" measurement is prior to ordering one of these Handle Sets.

Two-Piece:

Commonly referred to as "Sectional", these handle sets are composed of two sections. The Deadbolt and the Grip are mounted separate from one another.
